Rasmi, ENG 101. Hoagland- The courage of turtles.

(This is a television report from the banks of the Hudson River, where Hoagland threw the turtle.)

-This is Globbo Toad reporting live from the Hudson River for Nurture Nature News. Several hours ago a diamondback terrapin was thrown off the Morton Street Pier, into the Hudson River. Witnesses say that he was flung into the frigid ,freezing waters by a male homosapien. This is the seventh time this month that an animal has been thrown into the river. Most times, they do not survive. As you can see, there are seveal ducks and geese from the Animal Rescue Patrol serching the waters for any trace of the turtle. We still do not know why the turtle was thrown into the river, but we belive that it was something to do with ignorance with caring for a turtle. I have here with me Tabatha Frongle, a local resident sewer rat who witnessed the event.
Ms.Frongle, tell me, how did it all happen?
-Well, I was minding my own business, looking for some dead fish which is common around these parts with all the pollution and all, you know, and I heard this thunderous splash near the pier. I didn't know what had happened, but I saw a human standing on the peer with a paper bag in his hand. I knew it was a paper bag because I've often found stuff to eat in them,you know.
-Did you see the turtle in the river?
-Oh!Dear me no! I could't see anything because it was too grey and cloudy. Besides, I'm colorblind, and the turtle most probably blended in with the water. Camoflage,you know.
-Alright. Thank you, Mrs. Frongle.
-Thank you. I hope the fellow is found.
-Yes. I hope so too.

-And there you have it. For those of you who just tuned in, that was Ms. Frongle, a resident sewer rat, who was witness to the turtle being thrown into the river. No one knows why the turtle was thrown into the river, and the search party is still on the lookout for any signs of the turtle. The water is rather choppy today, it'll be a miracle if they find him. Wait a minute. What's this? There seems to be some commotion farther down the river bank. Maybe they found something.
Lets ask this gentleman here, sir, excuse me sir, what is going on here?
-Oh. I don't know. I heard someone say that they had found the turtle, you know, the throwaway one.
Hey! Am I on tv? Hi mom! Hi dad!
-Er...right. There you have it. The turle has been rescued. Let see if we can get a glimpse of him. Ah! There he is.
Excuse me sir, may I have word with you.
-Yes?
-Are you the turtle that was thrown into the river a while ago?
-Yes.
-What is your name, sir?
-Tarpin Tut
-Why were you thrown into the river?
-I don't know.
-Tell us what happened.
-I was put in a bag. It was dark. Then I was flying and I landed in water. That's all I remember.
-Who threw you into the river?
-A man. I was in his home for a while. He was annoyed with me. He was angry. I wasn't a pet that he had wanted. I suppose thats why he threw me into the river. He didn't want me. He didn't want me as a pet.
